The Shangarh Meadow and the Shangchul Mahadev Temple

Shangadh Meadow – The Home Of Sangchul Mahadev | Photo Blog

If you are visiting Sainj Valley, a visit to Shangadh Meadow- home to the Deity Sangchul Mahadev is a must. Acres of open green land lends path to an architectural marvel of Sangchul Mahadev Temple. The meadow is a sacred pasture, as legend has it, created by the Pandavas while they were on their agyaatvaasa run. The meadow is used by the cattle of the locals for grazing and is maintained by the devta committee here. When it snows, the meadow remains easily accessible and can easily give Swiss alps a run for their money.
