We started the trek with an aim of finishing it within 3 days from Aru valley and there was no better feeling than finishing it within the target time. A trek that is otherwise sold commercially as a 7-day trek, could be so well explored within 3 days. We will be sharing the detailed travelogue in some time. Do let us know of your queries and questions if you are planning to go for the Tarsar Marsar Lake Trek.
BAWRAY BANJARAY GUIDES –
Dwijing Festival is an annual festival held during the new year’s time, from Dec 27th to Jan 7th every year. We were invited by Bodoland Tourism and Assam Tourism to attend the festival, through their program, Ambassadors of Bodoland. While the festival lasts for 12 days, we spent 3 days here, and in these three days, we were not able to see it in its entirety. We couldn’t eat all the food, could not drink all types of local wines, dance with locals was never getting enough and the art installments were so thought-provoking that you might be spending days at a time and still not be fulfilled by the meanings.
We are pretty sure that when it comes down to places to visit in Assam, a list of well-advertised places with names of the city of Guwahati, Kamakhya Temple, Kaziranga National park, Tezpur, Sialkuthi, Majuli, and of course the all-mighty Brahmaputra pop up. But what if we tell you that Assam has much more up its sleeve than what usually pops up in the trendy listicles. On our exposure to the interiors of rural Assam with the Ambassadors Of Bodoland at the Dwijing Fest 2020, we dropped by in this valley called Umswai in West Karbi Anglong district of Assam. […]
From Markha valley Trek to the infamous Chadar Trek, we would certainly bet on Ladakh being one of the best trekking destinations of India. We thought about sharing some of the best treks in Ladakh that you could pick up to explore and really understand why ‘it’ is what ‘it’ is!

Let us take you through what these permits are, why does one need them and how can you easily get one!
On our recent expedition to Ladakh, we happened to drop by at this village called Turtuk. With whatever time we had to spend in Turtuk, we gathered all the info we could. Here, take a look:

The music soared high with every strum on the guitar and what a morning it could be – birds fluttered around, wind danced to the strums and trees felt pampered. We thanked the nature for all – for mountains, for the Himalayas, for snow, for birds, for trees, for wind, for music, for ourselves – for almost everything that we could. Before we left, we did gather all the info we could about Gulmarg. Here, take a look at things to know about Gulmarg in this Gulmarg Guide before heading up to this snow resort town in Kashmir Valley.
In this third part of our blog series about villages of Spiti, here is the next set of villages in Spiti Valley. These villages can be visited in a day excursion from Kaza.

These villages can be visited in a day’s excursion from Kaza – the headquarters of Spiti. To continue, here is the second circuit of villages in Spiti Valley that you can take to explore beyond the majestic landscapes and clouds. I have always wondered about those painters who usually get to finish their masterpieces. On my first interaction with the mountains, valleys and people of Spiti Valley, I almost got that rendezvous moment after crossing the mighty Kunjum Pass – the gateway to Spiti Valley. You cross through the rugged snow clad mountains, thundering rivers, barren cold lands and then these tiny dots on the mountain cheeks — the villages of the Spiti valley would appear to you like those last touches of a painter. Rudyard Kipling said about Spiti — “a world within the world” and it certainly is […]
There are islands and then there is a floating district that has kept secrets of human civilization so diverse that one actually has to take pointers to bring them down on paper. We are talking about Majuli,
Shrikhand Mahadev trek is the saga of speaking stones, boulders called as stairs, flamboyant waterfalls, canals cutting through the ways, muddy ways beyond clouds, scenic snow-clad mountains and all that which is a part of mother nature. The trek is famous as a pilgrimage to the peak of Shrikhand Mahadev where a rock-made Shivling of around 75 feet in height and 46 feet in thickness is situated at a height of 18570 ft in the Indian Himalayas.
